Optimized Main Squeeze Juice Schedule

For this project, my team worked with Main Squeeze Juice Co. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to address a key operational issue: overproduction and underproduction of juice, both of which lead to waste and inefficiency. We analyzed sales data from the previous 30 days to calculate weekly averages of juice sold, which helped us propose a standardized juicing schedule. This schedule enables Main Squeeze to better forecast demand, reduce waste, and ensure that the right amount of juice is available at all times.

By establishing a more efficient juicing schedule, we improved the company’s overall operations, helping them avoid both overproduction (which leads to waste) and underproduction (which could result in running out of stock). The standardization of batch sizes and the incorporation of data-driven insights allows for better planning, increased productivity, and minimized costs, ultimately benefiting the business.

This project allowed us to apply key concepts such as time studies, process analysis, and data collection to propose improvements and better understand how industrial engineering practices can enhance operational efficiency in real-world settings.
