Continuous Improvement Industrial Engineering Intern

Community Coffee – Manufacturing Plant.

January 2024 – Present

At Community Coffee, I worked as a Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern, where I played a role in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and job aids to foster continuous improvement throughout the plant. My responsibilities included compiling production data, conducting research, and preparing reports and presentations for meetings focused on data analysis and process improvements. I also worked closely with the continuous improvement engineer and plant leadership to identify issues, develop recommendations, and contribute to a limited-scope improvement project. This experience enhanced my problem-solving skills and gave me hands-on experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, allowing me to drive efficiency and make meaningful contributions to the plant's operations.

Advanced Manufacturing and Machining Facility

At LSU’s Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMMF), I gained valuable hands-on experience as an intern in the machine shop. My role involved working with state-of-the-art equipment to support various manufacturing projects, where I assisted with process optimization and troubleshooting. I collaborated with the engineering team to conduct research, document findings, and ensure the effective operation of machinery. By supporting the production of prototypes and learning about the integration of engineering principles into real-world manufacturing, I developed a deeper understanding of manufacturing processes and further honed my technical skills. This experience provided me with practical exposure to advanced manufacturing techniques and contributed to my growth in the industrial engineering field.
